i was gonna play portal 1. and then i was thinking. "should i really play it though? i feel like i actually played it fairly recently" and then i realised that the last time i played it, fairly recently, was when it came out, fairly recently. i've only played it once, and it was when it came out fairly recently. a fairly recent game which is fairly new and quite recent

These are the people building the Fediverse!
@dansup Am I able to change it on pixelfed? Misread a field when I created it a couple years ago.
@reflex That is coming to Pixelfed later this year!

Knowledge is power and, well, France is bacon.
Knowledge Is Power. France Is Bacon. • The Habit
@bkuhn I'm kinda gobsmacked by this TBH. I agree that it is reasonable to use proprietary tech to build non-proprietary, etc. (of course) but I've always known you to have a pretty high bar against using proprietary tech.
All other considerations aside - and that's a lot of considerations - ISTM that there's nothing Claude offers that you can't do with your brain, though slower.
And Anthropic's moral compass is... um, lacking. It makes some of the late 90s and early 2000s tech shenanigans almost seem quaint.
This kinda broke my brain, really. I wouldn't have been shocked to hear that you'd tinkered with Claude just to see whether its output was violating licenses, etc. But kinda shocked to find you'd actually use its output in a codebase.
@bkuhn Thing is, even though you could be at odds with Raymond or with Red Hat, you could still view them as objective allies because in practice we were all contributing to the free software commons that we saw as artifacts for user empowerment.
But that’s no longer the case: big tech has been freeriding, and now they’re building their ideal of free software without free software activists—destroying the commons we built as they move forward.

This is how I have learned literally everything.
Je n'as pas lu d'article entier parce que c'est payant.
Mais juste dans le petit paragraphe gratuit, sur les 3 apostats nommés, il n'y en a qu'un seul qui l'est vraiment....
Ca part mal.
Just used the term "load bearing hot path" in a non-sarcastic way... 🙀 help I'm starting to speak Claudish
Here’s why that matters….
We updated the feature list for Catodon on FediDB, take a look at this long list of YES

Have you abandoned Microsoft products since the International Criminal Court was locked out while prosecuting war criminals in America?
Have you abandoned Apple.since they gave millions to a Trump slush fund?
Have you left Facebook since they blocked #NoKings and meddled for Bolsonaro in Brazil's election?
A US President once said "we do these things BECAUSE they are hard."
Isn't it time we did the hard thing that starves these corporations working against our interests?
Good news everybody
Guess who just built 5 new fediverse stat bots?
This crazy guy. 🔥
