Hey, all. I think the answer here is yes, but it is a temptation to keep participating in those platforms for other reasons. If you're there to promote the Fediverse, and a funny meme goes by, it can be hard to remember to stay focused.

I should be clear that I'm not a social network purist. I think that using the Fediverse first is best. But I also share life events and family photos on Instagram and Facebook. And I post and support friends and allies on LinkedIn.

Is it OK to use walled garden social media to promote the Fediverse?

Hello Mastodon, I am posting this message from Anahita Microservices, the new open-source #Anahita social networking platform and framework, which will soon be released on www.Anahita.io. I'm from Canada, and Anahita will be able to connect to both #ActivityPub and #ATProtocol instances on the #Fediverse. I am quite excited about this breakthrough!

Sovereign Tech Agency

@sovtechfund@mastodon.social last wk.

In 2021, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs commissioned a small team to work out how public investment in open digital infrastructure could be designed. Five years and over 110 investments later, that feasibility study has evolved into the Sovereign Tech Agency, strengthening the people behind the code that powers our economy, digital sovereignty, and AI.

@misskey-dev/node-http-message-signatures now v1

It seems that this past week @aqz@p1.a9z.dev released @misskey-dev/node-http-message-signatures, which contains some breaking changes. At this time I am unsure what the difference is between joinmisskey/node-http-message-signatures and misskey-dev/node-http-message-signatures.…

The last few photos were taken at Ardkinglas Woodland Gardens last week, where they have a magnificent tree suitable for #ThickTrunkTuesday except for the fact that I failed to get a good photo of it, mainly due to unhelpful drizzle by the time we got round to it.

Had a vague memory of taking a better one on a previous visit, & it turns out not only have I posted it, but I'd posted it for a thick trunk Tuesday. Three years ago though, so I reckon I can get away with a repost.

Just look at this MAGNIFICENT BEAST of a tree.

Inktober day 12: "Toss"

#inktober #inktober2026

A fish in office clothing sits at a desk with a typewriter. There's a placard on the desk that says Mr. Fish. The fish is smoking a pipe and says "Bah" while tossing a crumpled piece of paper pulled from the typewriter.
