also, let's be real here, the barriers to entry to go from having a game idea to creating it are *ludicrously low* compared to even two decades ago. millions of people have dinked around with cool fun hyper-accessible tools, and more are being made all the time. what google is selling here is a way to create a shaky semblance of particular *types* of commercially legible game, that the world already has a lot of - an infinitesimal % of the total creative possibilities of the medium.

These are the people building the Fediverse!
and yeah, learning game creation tools is a barrier to entry. and i differ from a few other AI critics in that i don't personally believe barriers to entry, and struggle more generally, is inherently ennobling or necessary for the creation of art. i want to devote as much of my remaining games career as i can to easing those barriers and burdens (technically, socially, politically, all).
google's nonsense here is, obviously, not a reasonable or humane way to do any of that.
https://blog.google/innovation-and-ai/technology/ai/playground-experimental-gaming-platform they're gonna try to make the same bad arguments with this that they made for illustration, music, film, and creative writing and please take this veteran game developer's word that this is all a big load of shit. trash, but diametrically opposite the beautiful interesting trash that game creators, novice and experts alike, make when they think thoughts and pour their life experiences into something that communicates some piece of their humanity to the rest of us.
So many people knock AI for development purposes. They fear that there's no human in the loop. This is not the case with #FediDeck. This project has been far from a one shot AI prompt. It's been a more than 6 month iterative process and I'm still adding features and squashing bug.
I've gotten some great feedback on it from users and look forward to continuing to build it.
I use it everyday as my main platform for the Fediverse and Bluesky.
If you're at #Fediforum come check out my demo.

Video of my session at FediForum - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qz0x3xmiIp8 - thanks Mark for being the only one to join me (we're not the cool kids 😜 ) which introduces CList and offers an alternative way to look at (and build) the open social web, The usual live demo glitches, but I think we made the point. #fediforum
Super interesting conversation happening in the "Leveraging cultural momentum to attract more fediverse adoption (eg trends in solarpunk, digital detox etc)" session at #FediForum
Okay, let's fix this once and for all >_>
Technically the endpoint should be /api/studios/{studio-id}/v1/actors/{actor-id}.

When the post you quoted, is deleted, it's strange.
It's not showing that there was a quoted post... Just a single post.
@joergi Hmm this is what we see on mastodon.social web. Which client is this in, may be client-specific?
Things I've seen that needed to be spelled out to LLMs or that I have personally needed to spell out:
- "Do not under any circumstances write your own JSON parser."
- "Do not write your own PEG parser."
- "Do not write your own CSV parser"
- "Use the coroutine context, do not roll your own."
- "Use the shared threadpool, do not create a new one every time."
Just when you thought "#bpspam" was restricted to IPv4, today they have learnt about IPv6...
Out of 88 new IPs today, about 20 were IPv6.
@dmathieu What do you mean?

Repeating my earlier wish: would sure be nice if those links were not hardcoded to link to Bluesky, in the world where Blacksky, Eurosky etc exist.
@anewsocial
@osma We've been thinking about this, but it's hard to do when posts aren't stored and displayed in the same "location" the way they are on the Fedi. Brainstorming on this topic is happening on our end, though!
