@hypolite I feel like vertical analogue pictures were more common than horizontal phone pictures are now. But I also think it very likely that I feel wrong about that. @palomakop
@steeph @palomakop Let’s see, at a glance:
- Portrait paintings were more likely vertical.
- Daguerreotypes were more likely vertical.
- Roll film pictures were more likely horizontal.
- Digital camera pictures were more likely horizontal.
- Smartphone pictures are more likely vertical.
All this because of the form factor of the devices themselves.
