I've started trying netbsd recently.
I was curious how well the linux compatibility layer works, so I compiled os-test on a musl-based linux machine, and ran the tests on netbsd.
What I immediately found was that there's apparently no sure fire way to distinguish the OS a given ELF binary targets. There is an "OS/ABI" field in the header, but it's typically set to "System V" even on Linux.
So netbsd relies on some heuristics. One of which is to look at the program interpreter. But netbsd only knows the name of the glibc dynamic loader, not the musl one.
So I've now landed my first contribution to netbsd, to teach it about the musl dynamic loader!
