@atpfm Hello! A question for John, the resident OLED expert. I haven’t had a problem with my iPhone 17 Pro Max, but the display on the new iPad mini and the implementation of PWM is giving me some nausea issues. I had no idea this was a thing, but it seems somewhat common.
I’d love to hear a short (LOL) discussion on what this is, and can the current models be fixed with a software/firmware fix to increase the PWM frequency. (1/2)
@bubbajet In theory, PWM frequency could be adjusted in software. But do not rely on Apple ever doing this or ever officially allowing a third parties to do it. If the screen as sold bothers you, then don’t get the device.
