I come from a country in Southeast Africa. My people call it Zimbabwe, but the coloniser had another name for it. In late 2024 I was exploring the bargain bin of the library in Cape Town and found a photography book titled after the "Legacy" of the former colony. Ironic that this book would find its way back to the authors' Ian Murphy and Alf Wanneburgh's home colony of South Africa. I have mixed feelings about paying R5 for this book, but I will always support a library, and being able to see a time capsule of my home means a lot to me. The trend of stealing and erasure of black history really has to die. The background of this piece is from a section that specifically highlights the Eastern Highlands, an my particular favorite places in this beautiful country, Inyanga. Despite my general feelings of my abilities as an artist being quite negative, I chose to refine my craft a bit more for this peace and just show something aesthetically and spiritually beautiful. **NOTE: THIS IS A DIGITAL ITEM**
