An approaching upper-wave and anomalously moist flow from the Gulf will support increasing thunderstorms across parts of western to south-central and south Texas through the weekend. For the rest of Saturday, some locally heavy downpours will lead to an isolated threat of flash flooding. Then, on Sunday, storms will focus on south-central to south Texas with more widespread and intense downpours expected. Locally heavy totals of several inches will lead to the threat of scattered flash flooding, with a Slight Risk of Excessive Rainfall (level 2/4) in place. Storms will linger into Monday with a continued threat for isolated flash flooding. Elsewhere, showers will gradually taper off through the evening and overnight hours across the Interior Northeast/New England following the passage of a low pressure system. Another low pressure system to the west will bring another round of showers to the Upper Great Lakes and into the Interior Northeast Sunday into Monday.
