After I lost my dog Drake last year I was lost, it really affected me. Working from home lost its shine, it was so quiet and empty.
Two months later, after looking at classified ads for doggos, I found this farmer who had a bunch of purebred labrador retrievers for sale.
Messaged him Thursday, met him Friday and got to meet all the puppers.
They all came to me except one, he was a shy guy. I knew instantly he was the one ❤️
I paid him and picked him up the following Tuesday.
@alemarcati Ideally that would be the route I would take, except that they wanted to do inspections and then put us on a waitlist.
I was in bed about to goto sleep when I got this sudden urge to check kijiji and that's how I found Jake, it was meant to be.
@dansup Frankly, I would have expected you to go to an animal shelter instead of feeding the farming industry.
@dm29 He wasn't a dog farmer lol, he bred labrador retrievers specifically for his family.
I wanted another one, because they are the perfect breed for me. I have adopted shelter dogs before, but they did not have any labrador retrievers.
@dansup it's sensible. It was an impulsive remark in any case so excuse me.
@dm29 It's okay, when I was younger, we did adopt from shelters and those were some of the bestest doggos you could ever ask for! I also understand why shelters are more strict now because of the pandemic "trend" and I could never imagine getting a dog and then abandoning them. I despise people like that, and also recommend shelter adoptions when possible! (if i had my own house, I would adopt as many as I can, I feel so bad for them)
