Just for kicks I tried using my "minimal C code to read IR codes" on the Raspberry Pi Zero 2W. It works fine using the generic GPIOD library (which isn't very fast). A simple implementation which polls the GPIO pin continuously (with usleep() to reduce CPU utilization) worked on the first try. I guess we don't need LIRC either 😜
