The Emperor’s Naked Army Marches On (1987) - 5 stars
War is in fact the absolute worst thing in the world.
I sometimes worry i come off jaded or disaffected when I hang out with friends and process something truly monumental, as I can be quite quiet and concise and have little to add, and it's hard to express that this is just what having an ongoing existential crisis about reckoning with death for 18 years at this point has done to me. There's a background hum in my brain that is brought momentarily louder, so loud it becomes a crescendo, but the hum persists beyond that moment.
The existential horror of war is never surmounted. It rings louder each day. Let it ring out. Let it hurt your ears.
