I'm celebrating two productive musical days this week.
On Wednesday I wrote and recorded my entry for the "Autumn 2026 Sounds" collection being collated by https://citiesandmemory.com/
On Thursday I remixed and mastered my contribution. It's now submitted.
On Friday I finally knuckled down and re-recorded a song I'd written in 2013. It needed to be three semitones higher. That re-recording is complete apart from the vocals.

One aim of the re-recording was to simplify the guitar lines. I'd originally recorded two mono finger-picked acoustics playing different tunings. They were very pretty but had no grunt. I replaced these with a single stereo acoustic, picked at the start of the song, but switching to a strum on the second chorus. It beefs things up no end.
Because the song has been moved from G to Bb, I detuned the guitar by two semitones and played in C, which made the most of the lower mids.
