A new education and IT center is taking shape in Nairobi 🇰🇪

Currently, we're working with LEO and RealStars on a hybrid education and IT center in Kibera, Nairobi. The main idea behind it was to provide high-quality IT setup and entrepreneurship training that’s actually accessible for people living there, on site and online without leaving their neighborhood. We've written up the background of this long-term project here in case you want to get more details: https://www.hetzner.com/blog/ein-lernzentrum-fuer-neue-perspektiven-in-kibera/

Wide view of a basement classroom with a bare concrete ceiling and pillars. People sit on green plastic chairs at white tables with laptops. A red Hetzner banner and a white banner reading “Liberating Education Organization” hang on the back wall. A large screen stands in the left foreground.

A full classroom seen from the back. Dozens of people sit at laptops facing a large screen with a slide titled “The Impress Exercise”. Two people stand next to the screen. A small child in an orange jacket eats a snack between the chairs. The Hetzner and Liberating Education Organization banners hang on the right wall.

Students work on laptops at a long white table covered in power cables. A young man in a striped sweater points at one student’s screen, which shows a presentation slide. The Hetzner and Liberating Education Organization banners hang on the wall behind them.

Construction of the classroom shown in the other images. Steel rebar frames lie on black plastic sheeting on a flat roof, ready for the concrete slab. Four people work and watch, two of them kneeling. A black water tank stands on a green steel frame in the background under a blue sky with white clouds.
