Frances Ryan (Guardian) points out that Shabana Mahmood's 'partial' U-Turn does little to deal with the damaging effect her stance has on sectors that *actually* employ migrants.
The corrosive logic of 'contribution' may seem fair, but given the skewed pay structures of the UK economy will reinforce inequalities & more immediately undermine the ability of the social care system to function (dependent as it is on low paid migrant workers!).
