my *hope* is that there are enough new faces and people in Congress who take the right lessons from the election results that we see real action and real accountability.
though, my *expectation* is more along these lines...especially since pundits on the Big Networks last night were already talking about the "leadership" of Schumer and Jeffries being responsible for the Dem candidate wins. 🙄
Right now there's a real good chance national Democrats shoot themselves in the foot electing Schumer and Jeffries to lead Congress, all but guaranteeing more of the same voters just rejected, and end up limping into 2028 with little to show for yesterday's big win. There's also a really good chance the party run the Harris playbook again with someone like Newsom because that's what the leadership and donors want, and it fails spectacularly, again.
