No phorge stuff today. Today was a day of tiring and not writing the report I was intending to work on.
Tomorrow I'll write the report. Tomorrow is when it's due.
Then it's the next report. For the C-suite. Which I emphatically do not think is necessary but here we are. Observability is supposed to be a backwater where I can chill. That's why I like it. Well, one reason.
I guess I'll get to meet the CTO though 🤷♀️ 🙄
One of the people who was gonna help me make this place not suck is quitting which is annoying because he was one of my few allies against the suck. At least he's quitting into retirement instead of the job market.
Still, my people are amazing. And I get to meet them IRL next week.
I'm bitching but I fundamentally don't respect this entire construction of business. It rewards ridiculous things and now that I know the tricks... well, there's not (m)any dumber ways to make a living than to sit in meetings and write slack messages and the occasional google doc. And that suits me just fine. Even if it is irritating to have to perform slight of hand to make whiny assholes leave my people to do good work.
I stg if they put me in front of the CEO I'm gonna tell him exactly what's fucked at the company and I'm not gonna be polite about it. I already randomly had a meeting with his admin because she wanted to know about my move to Paris. I think I put her off by being a weirdo but eh, whatcha gonna do.
