Impeaching Trump would be pointless. Let's please not start a big round of infighting over it. Among other things, the guy is a one-man recruitment engine for Democrats!
Impeach Vought, or Hegseth, sure. A failed impeachment of Trump would not serve anyone's interests.

If you've read the literature on democracies sliding into authoritarianism, you know that the key deciding factor is *whether the center-right joins in*. How do established conservative powers respond to the rise of an authoritarian demagogue?
Let's convince them it's a bad decision to join in.
Adding: you are never going to dissuade narcissistic authoritarians like Trump from being the way they are. What you need to do is dissuade the apparatchiks & hangers-on -- convince them that the risk of hopping on the authoritarian bandwagon is too high.
So: prosecute the Millers & Hegseths.
