PSA: If you dump a huge PR (or even a moderately sized one) on one of the projects I maintain without any prior contact, it's probably just going to get rejected. Or at least sit in a queue of things I'll get around to ...
We welcome contributions. However, for anything non-trivial please just take 5 minutes to raise an issue and discuss it with us first. It will save you (and us) time in the long run.
AI has made this "PR dump" problem more common, but it was a behavior that predates it ...
@thesolidpixel yeah, same with the stb repo.
Got neglected for a good while (for reasons...) but we've been chewing through the backlog for the last 2 weeks.
I'm sorely tempted to put "no unsolicited PRs" as a rule. Every once in a while we get 1000+ line diffs adding major features that we don't want and are out of scope and it feels bad to reject but we just have to; all of the stuff in stb_* we most regret are random contributions from 10+ years ago that already were a bit iffy then.
