Dear US people: I am happy for the electoral results. I truly am.
But do not fall into the trap of assuming that you won and things from now on will be great. Your war has just started, the damage to your democratic institutions is still there and getting worse, the bar for what politicians can do without being forced to resign has never been so low.

I lived through the Berlusconi era in Italy, and getting rid of him didn't magically solved anything. The fascists will lick their wounds for a short while, but they are still there, they tasted blood, and now know they can get away with a LOT.

Make this your first step, not the last one.

And then there is, of course, the little problem that the US foreign policy has been an abomination even under the most progressive presidents. Maybe one day you could take a look at that too.
