Also, official unemployment stats are a ludicrous undercount, because anyone who worked 1 hour in the week they surveyed (paid or *unpaid*), counts as 'employed', and people not "actively seeking work" (maybe because there aren't any paid jobs for us ?) are *not* counted as unemployed.See;

And remember, those figures don't account for the 1000s of working age kiwis who left the country - many permanently - to avoid being unemployed under a beneficiary-bashing government.
