Our latest OS release includes our port of the 10th gen Pixels to Linux 6.18 LTS. It's now in Alpha for the Pixel 10, 10 Pro, 10 Pro XL and 10 Pro Fold. We've been doing public pre-Alpha testing and multiple days have passed with no more issues found.

The release has been cancelled for devices not yet ported to Linux 6.18 due to a regression in the Android 6.1 GKI LTS branch. It caused a kernel panic for the Pixel 7a in our internal testing. Android already fixed it and we've applied the patch for today's upcoming release.

One issue has been found as part of Alpha testing. Linux added USB PD Adjustable Voltage Supply (AVS) support and the Pixel power supply driver charging logging made an invalid out-of-bounds read indexing into an array of strings based on power supply type which didn't include it.

This was caught by the UBSan bounds sanitizer which is used in trapping mode in production as a hardening feature. It's an out-of-bounds read beyond a read-only global constant so MTE can't catch it since those aren't separately tagged. We added the new types and a bounds check.

This wouldn't have caused any real harm beyond incorrect logging without UBSan but it's good the issue was found with it. Due to finding this issue, we checked all other uses of the USB PD enum types in the Pixel drivers and also fixed PPS fast charging for chargers with AVS.

@GrapheneOS once you have ported gen 10 (10a 10 10 pro), the next one is the 9 Gen i guess (9a 9 9pro) ?

@maya Pixel 10a is a 9th generation Pixel from a hardware, firmware and software perspective so it's not included in the initial port of the 4 actual 10th gen Pixels to Linux 6.18.

The rest of the devices will potentially all be ported at the same time. 6th through 9th generation Pixels along with the Pixel 10a are all Exynos-based with a very similar SoC, firmware and drivers. There are major differences for the actual 10th gen Pixels which is why it was done separately from the others.
