My orthopedic appointment was great! It lasted 7 minutes and I only have to get permission from my cardiologist to go off the blood thinners for 48 hours ~ then surgery IS A GO!

It's called a Trapeziectomy with LRTI. They will remove the trapezium bone from the base of the thumb and replace it with some tendon (from my forearm). I will probably lose grip strength, but I won't be in pain anymore. And obviously only one hand at a time will be done.

I'm so relieved! If the cardiologist doesn't play along, he and I will have words.
