@ai6yr
I would link to OpenWRT Table of Hardware, but they've bit the slop-aid.

@ai6yr what could possibly go wrong
@ai6yr I see this less as "drinking the Kool-Aid" and more as the Kool-Aid man bursting down your {fire}wall.
@ai6yr Well assuming the engineer is actively working at it, will probably change things indeed. In what direction seems one needs to ask the magic 8 ball. ^^
@ai6yr
Well it's Cisco. How much worse can it get?
@ai6yr I dunno, Cisco software hasn’t been very good for a decade or so. It’ll be interesting to see how they can make it worse. I have a 4506 with 19 years of uptime and counting, but some of the more recent switches aren’t even making it a month between bouts of going suddenly catatonic and requiring a reboot.
@ai6yr this Paddy kid sounds like Ryan the Temp becoming an executive
@ai6yr I might be confused but I'm pretty sure it's reminding me a bit after 24 months ...
@fullywoolly lolol 128 months?
That would be a clear GenAI agentic tell there which is hilarious.
@ai6yr Do they both have the same ketamine supplier too, so they both feel like invincible bro-gods or something?
I lately heard about a large software company doing something similar, shifting everything over to a new language at the same time.
I had thought it might be a uniquely bad choice.
Apparently not.
@michael_w_busch @ai6yr there is no choice so bad that somebody will not try to get on that bandwagon
@ai6yr how to destroy your company without really trying
@ai6yr I'm removing the last piece of Cisco equipment from my network late next week when its replacement arrives.
Seems I timed it perfectly.
@ai6yr I hope they deploy all that code with only LLMs doing the checking. On a Friday. At 4:59 pm.
@ai6yr <assuring no shares related to Cisco> 🫣
@ai6yr this seems really weird. did they go to the same school or something? "you're a junior member of a tech startup that's nothing to do with networking, perfect!"
@ai6yr What I don't understand is how C-suite and project managers don't recognize coding LLM tools as just another form of the mythical man month.
Prior knowledge compressed into templated answers even at a ratio of a million-to-one will not produce quality code a million times faster.
@ai6yr
Wow..
Unfuckingbelievable.
Cisco was once the gold standard for rock solid dependability and best-of-breed security.
R.I.P. Cisco.
The CEO will make a shit-ton of cash before he bails tho., so that's always the main thing.
