It's not "lovingly handcrafted" it's professional engineering, you amateur-hour dilettantes flooding the zone with hastily constructed bullshit.

My first professional software job was writing firmware for gas detectors. You strap them to your chest before going into a confined space, and they let you know if you're about to suffocate, be poisoned, or blown up.
You learn a lot of good coding habits in that sort of environment. And it starts with fully defining what you're going to develop, and how you're going to test it. Which apparently is "loser thinking".
@daedalus in the industry I work in, we sometimes lament that it takes so long to get anything done. So many layers of review and stakeholder input and more review and safety analysis.
But when we build something, it works. First time. And generally stays working for decades.
Those processes were written in fire and blood. The body count of the industry is scary, and we tolerate the processes because we don't want to add to it.
Software engineering usually isn't quite such high stakes (Therac 25 and Boeing's MCAS notwithstanding), but this tendency to push shit and fix it later with a patch (if ever) has become unhealthily dominant, lately.
