look how absolutely right @dthompson was here about "yeah you can't expect Anthropic/OpenAI to let you liberate proprietary software from copyright" https://toot.cat/@dthompson/117508432881233949

> ANTHROPIC IS CRACKING DOWN ON VIDEO GAME REWRITES 🚨
>
> Claude Code picked up a new rule around Oct 27, sent from Anthropic’s servers under a flag called "tengu_heron_brook". There’s no setting to turn it off.

> The full rule: “Do build original games, games in a genre, and games from the user’s own designs and assets. Don’t build a recreation of a specific existing game, even if it is renamed or called original.”
@cwebber @dthompson i feel we are going in direction of high transistor count compute hw (not only gpus/tpus) and llms being qualified by law as weapons or at least dangerous commodities, and it won't be possible to own them easily while being a private person without resources and special perms. over modern history, it happened already many times with many things, so it's not a new pattern. such approach it's just too good for big tech and govs to ignore it.
