SignalFlow Album Review:
Socool and CommsBreakdown just released their new full length album 'For The Setting Sun' on SignalFlow, a collaboration between two impressive musicians with a catalog of explorative releases. At times their styles are miles apart, but the main thread through both of their work is sound design.
While CommsBreakdown recently released a genre defying, bassline driven album back in August, ‘Beats From A Neurodivergent Brain’, a cornucopia of digital exploration; Socool was putting out 2 albums in 2025, ‘Another Kind of Earth’ and To the Nines’, building ambient soundscapes on ‘Earth’ and painting those lush and vivid sounds in a more structured way with ‘Nines’.
Take all of those talents and put them together, and you get what I’m now calling SoCom. That thread sews itself through the entire album, weaving rich sound and brilliant production, a downtempo album that ebbs and flows, and doesn’t stay in one lane long. It’s truly an honor and a pleasure to have them release it with us first.
