the mechanic of needing to take mana from your employees in order to enchant gear is interesting on paper but your employees don't use their mana when they're not in combat and the amount of mana that regenerates in the game's shortest non-combat time interval which is six hours is enough to make the mechanic into "click like seven more times every time you want to enchant armor"

the enchanting screen specifies that the character will unequip their item during the enchantment process but the only reason for that seems to be that this game implements cursed items backwards so if you unequip a cursed item it works but you can never re-equip it
the game also spells Mythril with a y and I've never seen any game do that but maybe that's just because the only games I'm aware of with mithril in them are runescape-based
got a little bit bored with the game making almost every character either caucasian or pink so I redid all the colors on my combat squad
the game has three separate menus where you can edit colors and two of them are identical except that one of the two has a cooldown
one can edit clothes and hair but not skin and the other can edit skin and hair but not clothes
there's also a fourth menu where you edit characters which gets used twice in the tutorial and then never again
also I gave my dark elf a tail by accident and I don't think there's a way to remove it
also medium armor looks like this in this game apparently
there's a gender reassignment ritual that you can do in this game but one of the requirements is "is a man or a woman" and you can fail that requirement by being trans which is pretty funny in a way the game developer probably didn't intend to be political commentary
this is a porn game on itch.io that makes heavy use of genAI slop so of course it's gonna have the three genders be "man", "woman", and "transgender woman"
the upside(???) to the game developer and their fleet of slop machines not knowing what a transgender person is is that if you're transgender in this game you basically get to do everything that every gendered body part can do at the same time
then again BDCC also has characters who can do this and it's intentional to the point where some of the characters can asexually sexually reproduce with the use of portal technology and I know with 99.999% confidence that Rahi knows what being transgender is
I'm not gonna put fucking in my comedy management/automation game for children so I don't get to play with any of these concepts
I am learning a lot about what does and doesn't work with game UIs from this game that was as far as I can tell put together by repeatedly asking genAI to make different interfaces and then leaving them all in the game though
for example, if you have a bunch of "keep this many of this item available" crafting orders and you add a new one-time crafting order, that should go above those
this game is like if BDCC was homophobic medieval fantasy rather than cool HRT-themed cyberpunk sci-fi
there are genAI slop versions of some of the character portraits that you can toggle on and off and the weirdest part is that every single unique clothing item in the game has broken graphics that don't match what it looks like in the normal procedurally generated version of the character art and also an exactly identical item that isn't the one with bonuses and "can only be worn by this character" that does render correctly

they also get a lot of character details weirdly wrong in the procedurally generated version of the character art (which is a system BDCC also uses but without genAI slop and without getting the character designs wrong)
like you meet a fairy with green wings and a green dress and the procedurally generated version has pink wings and a gray and brown dress
or there's a furry character you meet during a town siege who has ears in the procedurally generated version that point out sideways that I don't think get used by the game at all normally and in the genAI slop art and also every character that gets generated naturally in that species the ears point straight up
also WHY ARE DAISY'S EARS WHITE IN THE GENAI SLOP ART THERE ARE NO CHARACTERS IN THE GAME WITH EAR FUR THAT DOESN'T MATCH THEIR HAIR COLOR AND THE REASON FOR THAT IS THAT IT LOOKS LIKE SHIT
one pretty cool feature of the game is that if you edit a character's skin color there's a button to guess what color their nipples should be
which is better than a lot of porn games on itch which just give any character with dark skin glowing pink nipples
come to think if it it's weird that you can set nipple color but not penis color (the penis has no color variation anywhere on it, as if the game developer had only ever seen unpainted plastic dildos and that's where their understanding of what a penis looks like came from)
and ear skin color but not ear fur color
a lot of games with both sex and combat in them try to merge them in a way that isn't really anything
BDCC solves it by basically just having the combat sex be masturbating to make your opponent so horny they can't fight anymore
this game handles it in a different way, by having them be completely different systems that may as well be completely different games
I think there's like one character who you can fight and also can have sex with in the entire game
the quartermaster keeps coming back from the market with 1 grain and zero of the big-ticket crafting items I need so I'm guessing the quartermaster can't actually get those and the game is struggling to fill a shopping cart with items that can't be purchased at that market
