If every single part of the backbone is fast, slow-downs in the web browser can be caused by: - requesting way too many resources, - requesting resources that are too large.
That's because the web browser that consumes those resources has to wait for them to load and then has to interpret them before it can start displaying their contents. Maybe you're slowing down the web browser because you make it do too much.
