Back when I was in my Christian Girlie Phase, I specifically shopped for a plain Bible cover, so I wouldn't appear vain or consumerist.
@RickiTarr Take a wild guess who studied comparative religion
@RickiTarr I bought a red leather bible. And I'm such a heathen now, look what it's near.
@RickiTarr
This the one I used
@RickiTarr Top grain leather in cordovan. Name tastefully embossed at bottom right.
@RickiTarr The Bible I had for Sunday School actually had quite a nice photo of the Jordan River at sunset on it.
@RickiTarr I adorned the Bible we got from school with an - ironically meant - hand-drawn Adidas logo. I guess this means we were opposites.
@RickiTarr Oh, gods... I felt that in my soul. Mine had an embroidered eagle on the front of it, IIRC.
@RickiTarr You want to have something nice to protect the most important book ever, though.
@RickiTarr Mine was as colorful as Joseph's Many Colored Dreamcoat ... kind of a giveaway.
@RickiTarr The irony, shopping to not be consumerist! 😄
Mine was a tattered, donated, paperback copy of "The Transformer", which was the NASV translation with photos and interpretive sections written for teens. Only Bible I ever owned aside from a pocket New Testament. Kept my sermon notes in it. Entire cover was held together with box tape. Beat all to hell.
