UK peeps who have job-hunted lately - how bad is it? Super bad?
I know people who've gone months, or weeks.
I'm a scientifically-trained person who likes words (writing, editing) and can do a decent talk (though I'd prefer not to)
I absolutely do not want to be forced to use genAI for work, or be buried in other people's use of it.
I fear this is fast becoming impossible to avoid.

Is that perceived as bad now? O_o
I was out of work 2009-2013. I applied for an average -- just calculated -- of about 15 jobs per working day for that entire period. Total was ~3,500. I worked about 6-8 full-time paid weeks in those 4 years, and I got about 5 invitations to job interviews in that time. In other words, I averaged about 1 interview per 1,000 applications, roughly one per year.
This is why I emigrated.
