#veilamp from veilamp.com ...

For those days when you want lyrics sync'd with your music, but your music is local on your own NAS and not being sold via a monthly subscription by an arms dealer who also fills their platform with AI generated slop to avoid paying artists even the fraction of a penny they would otherwise get ...

Oh, and you can stream your friends music straight to your ears via a secure network that protects your privacy and identity. How cool is that?

@yojimbo

Can it build an index of the tempo, key, loudness, and mood of your library? So you can search by these parameters?

Can it auto detect live recordings?

Does it do gapless playback transitions auto calculated to match tempo at 16 or 32 beat blend length, or are they just smearing them together? They aren't clear on this

Can it play to Sonos, HEOS, BluOS, AirPlay, uPNP, MPD, or OpenHome?

tbh Veilamp is like 80% good but missing the last 20% that makes a good music player great if you have a large diverse library and I doubt they'll add this because it would never work with your p2p libraries 🙁

@feld Well ... it's primary mission is to promote streaming between connected users' libraries, rather than to be the most audiophile-positive player. So I'm sure that the answer to many of those is "no"; but if you could help @veilamp know where that sort of data comes from it could be added. Right now it does a lot of lookups on musicbrainz data, but I don't see that sort of detail there.
Once that data are in your local library, it could be exposed over the sharing network, sure.

@yojimbo @veilamp Only way I know how to do it is to analyze the raw audio. Nobody has a database of it afaik

A good start would be to integrate the core of AudioMuse as the other options are all proprietary. This is the only one that does all the features I know of.

Lots of details here, but wish they published something more specific instead of mixing it in with details about crap like Postgres: https://neptunehub.github.io/AudioMuse-AI/ALGORITHM/

@yojimbo Sorry for hijacking the thread but if you could somehow integrate this stuff with Veilid so the data could be queried across the network from like a global crowdsourced database you could essentially replace all features of every single streaming service.
