Hey everyone, I am Bryan, a queer socialist in East TN (USA). I used to be on Mastodon previously but fell out of it as my feed had become full of news and negativity. I want things different this time.
I am trying to build something outside the surveillance economy. I self-host what I can, run FOSS exclusively, and believe in software freedom. By training I'm a Historian (North American Indian Studies), which means I think a lot about colonialism, resistance, and what autonomous infrastructure actually requires. Looking to connect with others doing similar work, share resources, and participate in this space without treating it like a content mill. Happy to boost FOSS projects, mutual aid, movement stuff, etc.
I believe in the #NoAI movement. I am not interested in meeting people who promote its use.
I enjoy playing videogames, trying to get back into the habit of regular reading for fun, and listen to a lot of music (Acid Techno, Power Metal). I started reading "The Water Knife" by Paolo Bacigalupi.
Feel free to say hi!
