Something I thought as a kid, but never revisited as an adult: I always interpreted “Drove my Chevy to the levee” to mean drive it real fast like “pedal to the metal.” And the levee being dry meant the car didn’t have the juice?

@lynnandtonic hah, can't say I've ever misinterpreted like _that_, but I did always think Green Day's Basket Case said "sometimes I feed myself dog treats" instead of "give myself the creeps"
And my mom thought Steve Miller Band's "Jungle Love" was "Jug of Love" 😆
