Listening to the Ballad Lines soundtrack has revived me. I think I've made this exist post like a dozen times this year but they GOT to bring this musical to New York. It's the best completely original soundtrack I've heard in years.

I think I need to add some more contemporary musicals to a to-listen playlist. I think I've missed out on a lot as Broadway has become more stale and boring. The best musicals are not opening on Broadway anymore.
Not for the first time, if you like musicals and folk music from the Appalachian Scots-Irish tradition, the Ballad Lines soundtrack gets my highest possible recommendation.
