It's been a lot of fun trying the Duo out for a week, but it feels like I've gotten to use an extraordinarily polished prototype -- not a finished product that I'd want to buy and carry.

@gruber I find the iPhone Duo sufficiently promising that I dragged my ass up at 4:55 AM last Friday to order one. As a guy who’s become increasingly dissatisfied with the overall state of phones, particularly the push towards taller and taller screens, and as a fan of the iPad mini in particular, I think the Duo will scratch a very specific itch.
And I think that within the next five years, we’ll all come to realize that Duo-shaped screens are better for everything one does on a phone except for vertical video apps and doomscrollers.
