Beaver paradise
The previous three years, this area was flooded and the dams were not maintained. For the first time this year we were able to walk dry on the original trail. We didn't see or hear the builders though.
I'm standing on top of the lowest dam to take this photo, looking higher towards the second dam and higher pond. We discovered a third and fourth smaller dams upstream. It was a little paradise, with perfectly controlled flows and the sound of small waterfalls from one pond to another... Very impressive!
