It continually astonishes me how much of the Internet is just slop powered by cPanel and WordPress. You don’t even need LLMs to make slop. You can just throw up a website with cPanel and WordPress. There are people in this world whose entire jobs revolve around this ecosystem and they don’t even know what a CVE is or even care. I know, I help operate a small hosting provider as a side gig (it doesn’t pay much lmao).

As for what usually goes on these websites? Well of course AI bullshit. But before that? Content mill slop. There was an entire ecosystem of heavily exploited writers that created SEO content. Sometimes it’d be for a small company client who just needed a website and the guy found someone who seemed to work suspiciously cheap. Other times it’s just a whole outfit designed to generate revenue through getting you to click the link before a reputable source.
