A discord I'm in noticed that I've logged the original Left Behind (the one with Kirk Cameron in it) on letterboxd and I felt compelled to go off on it lmao

@rnd it was quite blatantly the same thing going on. The third one of those was crowdfunded and it's ridiculously obviously that one of the backer rewards was getting the name of your cryptocurrency website graffitied on to the wall of a random corridor.
@DotMaetrix there's a similar thing in "kung fury", where in one scene the wall of the miami police station in 1985 has a bunch of random messages on sticky notes, including a website address
@rnd lmao oh my god!
@DotMaetrix the part about the televangelist cameos reminded me that there are also cameos from libertarian and right-wing pundits in one of the "atlas shrugged" movies, which happen at a point in the plot where nearly all of the "great men" have been taken by john galt (and the u.s. is nearly finished becoming a full-on communist state, with full state control of the media)
which means that (1) they're basically admitting that they're not good enough for galt's capitalist paradise, (2) they somehow still have media jobs and are able to express their opinions on TV in a world where the socialists are in unquestioned control of the whole of the united states (they all use their own real-life shows' sets for the cameo segments, none of them are presented as if they're doing pirate broadcasting)
