Great work being done to shame and document the coders with ai brainworms but i hope would do the same for musicians/music companies too
Reason I thought of this is because i just saw a video showcasing the "Grid" feature of Bitwig. I'd roughly describe it as a modular playground for sound devices.
I might have to grab Bitwig someday soon. At least as some "insurance" in case it turns to sloppy mush in a future update?
Main thing that has kept me away from Bitwig is their "lite subscription" model. Yes, you get to keep the software (well whatever keep means in 2026...) but the updates only last a year.
It's slightly advantageous in that the updates aren't locked to a specific version, but it's not like bitwig gets multiple major version upgrades per year
@citrusui This is somewhat offtopic as it's not precisely a DAW but what do you think about BespokeSynth?
(Note I haven't looked at it in a while so if it's gone slop I wouldn't know)
The only DAW i have been comfortable with using long-term (using it off and on for 8 years currently) added an "ai integration" and has been stagnating in virtually every other way and it makes me so upset
It's also open source, but not in any meaningful way. The engine is open source, but the full app, with UI and all... pretty sure it's closed. The DAW is "Tracktion" btw
