@cr1901 @lispi314 @dalias @pinskia I wanted the programming world to stop "improving" to let me catch up and let software stabilize twenty fucking years ago. But the capitalist machine is like a bike, it has to move forward or it falls.
I'm afraid the software world will not be fixed until we change the societal model.
@cr1901 @lispi314 @dalias @pinskia I can't follow you on that train of thought, because I never did. I always cared, and I always thought that the ones who didn't were the ones without a self-preservation instinct. "What, removing the simple lifeline in favor of the complex one that we can't bootstrap?" "Yeah, why not? It's not like we'll need to ever do that again" "But don't you want to have the possibility of it?" "Trust me bro, it will work"
That's a big part of why I never thrived in corporate environments, that were all about efficiency and not at all about robustness or cleanliness.
@lispi314 @dalias @pinskia I would just fucking love for things in programming world to stay stable until I've actually have time to get a grasp on everything I want to explore _to my satisfaction_. And LLMs have completely fucked that up by accelerating the pace at which changes are added. And lots of ppl are fine assuming what they have "just works" as a base if it means adding new shiny feature. So yea, that's a selfish reason why I hate LLMs.
