I just merged kinda a cool #fwupd feature; you can now do "fwupdmgr refresh" on an Android device -- it downloads the metadata direct from the LVFS CDN. You can then do "fwupdmgr update" too -- the archives get downloaded and the firmware deployed onto the device. We even do some of that in an Android VM for each CI run for testing and coverage. It's very nearly at feature parity with Linux and FreeBSD!
