A detailed screenshot of the Windows installer for **“Quake VR: Unleashed”**, displayed in a dark, red-and-black themed interface. The window title at the top reads **“Quake VR: Unleashed Setup.”**
On the left is a vertical navigation panel occupying roughly one-fifth of the window. At the top is the **Quake VR Unleashed** logo, featuring a metallic, distressed version of the Quake emblem surrounded by red splatters and effects, with the words “QUAKE VR” and “UNLEASHED” underneath. Below the logo is a numbered installation progress menu:
1. **Welcome**, marked with a yellow checkmark indicating it has been completed.
2. **Statement**, highlighted as the current step with an orange diamond containing the number 2.
3. **Your PC**, greyed out.
4. **Options**, greyed out.
5. **Install**, greyed out.
6. **Play**, greyed out.
7. **Thanks**, greyed out.
Near the bottom of the sidebar are two large buttons. The first says **“Support me on Ko-fi”**, accompanied by the Ko-fi coffee-cup logo and the smaller text **“a token of thanks helps.”** Below it is a purple-outlined **“Join the Discord”** button with the Discord logo and the smaller text **“chat, help and news.”** At the very bottom-left, small text reads **“Installer 1.0.0”** and **“by Vittorio Romeo credits,”** with a small speaker/audio icon to the right.
The main content area is headed **“Statement”** in large white serif lettering. Directly underneath is the subtitle **“A statement from Vittorio regarding AI usage.”**
The statement consists of several paragraphs of white text on the dark background. It explains that the developer, Vittorio, developed “Quake VR: Unleashed” with heavy AI assistance, rebasing his original fully hand-written older “Quake VR” project on top of the Ironwail source port and using an agent-driven workflow to improve and iterate on the existing foundation.
The next paragraph says that VR gaming and many other areas of life are experiencing a period of renaissance thanks to AI, and that, like any other tool, AI can be used to produce both quality products and so-called “slop.”
The following paragraph says the developer is deeply saddened by what he describes as constant undeserved harassment and bullying directed at AI content creators online, despite the passion and effort they put into their work.
Another paragraph states that he wants to live in a future where products are judged by their quality and by the passion of their creators, rather than by the tools used to create them.
The final paragraph asks players of “Quake VR: Unleashed” to keep their values and views regarding AI usage fair and respectful of the hard work put into the project.
On the right side of the statement text is a rectangular portrait photograph of the developer. The photograph shows a smiling man with short dark hair, dark eyebrows, glasses, and a closely trimmed beard. He is wearing a white collared shirt and is photographed against a plain light-gray background.
Below the statement are three large bordered acknowledgement rows, each extending almost the full width of the main content area. Each row has a green checkmark icon inside a diamond-shaped indicator on the left, followed by a statement in white text and two choices, **“YES”** and **“NO,”** on the right. In all three rows, the **YES** button is highlighted bright green while **NO** is dark and unselected.
The first acknowledgement reads: **“I recognize that AI-assisted development does not mean a low-quality result.”** The word **“not”** is emphasized in italic text.
The second reads: **“I recognize that AI-assisted development does not mean the author lacks expertise.”** Again, **“not”** is italicized.
The third reads: **“I recognize that AI-assisted development does not mean the author cared or worked less.”** The word **“not”** is italicized.
A thin horizontal divider runs across the bottom of the main content area. In the lower-right corner are two navigation buttons: a dark **“Back”** button and a larger orange **“Continue”** button. The Continue button is visually emphasized as the primary action.
The entire interface uses a very dark brown-black background with subtle red and orange atmospheric particles and glowing specks toward the bottom and right side. Thin borders, muted gray text, green confirmation indicators, and orange highlights reinforce the dark, industrial aesthetic associated with the Quake franchise. The screenshot shows the installer before proceeding to the next step, with all three AI-related acknowledgements already set to **YES**.
