Big announcement, my hacker crew got Linux running on the iPhone 11 ✨ 🐧 🎉
We built a hardware tool we call the PWNie which got us a foothold running code on the A13. After months of grinding we've VERY close to a Linux patch to bring A13 support to mainline Linux!
Massive props to Jose at @SourceParts for months of slogging and grinding on this!

Now you may have heard others got Linux running on the iPhone 11 BUUUUUT that approach uses iBoot.
The approach developed by Jose @SourceParts however FULLY reverse engineered the A13 boot process to run our own boot loader from start to finish.
We have NO iBoot or any other Apple code in our boot process and because of that we side step possible mitigations(technical and legal) Apple could do to prevent other approaches like this one who rely fully on iBoot.
If you read the prior art in Linux on A13 work you'll find this line that doesn't really sit right with me licensing wise...
"Both pongoOS and this project operate under the assumption that it is OK to derive patches based on Apple's logic as such.
This project is an iBoot patcher and iBoot is (c) Apple, Inc.. The acceptability of this practice depends on the jurisdiction."
This unsteady legal footing motivated us to go write a bootloader instead of roll the dice.
Anyways the answer is yes!
I know y'all wanna know if it plays Doom and yes, it does.
Volume up/down is left/right, power button is forward and double tap on power is fire.
You're welcome

We need to raise a few thousand dollars to get PWNies to market and finish testing our Linux patches.
As few as 50 patrons will make iPhone 11 Linux a reality.
