@sun@shitposter.world Yeah it is a wild west out there for recomps. I kid you not just search "recomp" into GitHub sorting by recently updated and you will find all kinds of wild things. Switch games are also becoming a recomp target as well and due do how close the Switch 2 is once it get hacked and games get dumps it is all over.

@sun I traded my PS5 in at GameStop yesterday and the dude behind the counter probably hated Sony more than me. He even overlooked the stick drift on my controllers for max trade in value!

@splitshockvirus my snarky answer is I've gotten three jobs already using AI but I admit that AI is wiping out a bunch of jobs that aren't coming back and that's bad.
@sun Cool I've been out of work for 2 years and all I've learned is all job posting sites are flooded with AI applications and your qualifications are meaningless when everyone says they can do exactly what you can but for cheaper. You don't even get emails back from entry positions anymore.
My job still exists an AI didn't take it. procurement decided that eight h100 graphics cards could eventually be turned into a product that people would buy, but it's going to cost a lot of capital to acquire them so fire two employees, that bet turned out to be wrong but at least they have hardware that might retain its value.
So it's not that I even care about AI it's that people are being oversold on its value. There's not a market recompiling halo 3 to run with skate 3 assets but that's technically something I could do.

i made and IRC client in C# once.
it had an /raiden command that would spawn mortal kombat raiden that would fly out of left side of the desktop (multiscreen compatible!) and push the client window off the desktop, closing the application.
it would also play the appropriate sound effect.
