The horrors persist, but so do I.
Are we part of the horrors?
Of course we could be. The Horrors are not that separate from us. In fact, anyone can Become a Horror. Becoming a Horror is easy. To Persist is to Not Become a Horror. To Persist is To Fight.

Did we inherit persistence from what we're running from?
