#Arachtober 1: the lights on this pedestrian bridge create giant spider shadows! The casters are the appropriately named bridge spiders, _Larinioides sclopetarius_.

A pedestrian bridge by night, with downward-facing lights set underneath the wooden railings. A spider has built its web directly beneath one, creating a giant spider shadow on the walkway.

A further-out view showing the bridge curving away, with dozens of similar lights.

An orbweaver spider at the centre of its symmetrical, wheel-like web. It has a darker leaf-like marking (the folium) on the top side of its abdomen which looks a little like a fleur-de-lys.
