Good morning! Here's your kitten!, a single by monolalia - https://chaosfem.tw/@anjune

https://mirlo.space/monolalia/release/good-morning-heres-your-kitten

monolalia defines their music as "explorable" and that nails it. I am not getting tired to listen to these two songs, which are smooth but with some edges, complex but not overwhelming. I find something else at each pass. Soon-to-come album, you say? Looking forward to more.

Includes three poems -- no spoilers.

Single cover with an abstract-looking (to me) illustration, title and artist's name.

Written in Rust, an album by monolalia - @anjune

https://mirlo.space/monolalia/release/written-in-rust

The "explorability" of the single recently reviewed (see above) just got a full expansion with what is monolalia's first album. What a solid piece of electronica work. I hear a character, a thread that goes beyond a simple addition of tracks, and I hear like the sound of experience. It's paused, it's tense, it's dark, it's also smooth, and those human voices. That beauty rust has.

(((Post reposted because it got lost during the migration.)))

Album cover with a relatively abstract illustration that could resemble the sun setting on some distant mountains, all with brown tones like rust.

@electre @anjune This track "Star Boi vs the Nothing Factory (feat. hu₃c₂)". Wow. This voice... This mood... This title... Do you want to share more about it?

Thank you so much! That was the first feedback the track ever got!

The song continues "I Felt Nothing" and "Written in Rust".

Anhedonia, apathy, detachedness, emptiness, depression. There’s the movie sample "There has to be passion. There has to be... passion!" which I interrupt to make it "There has to be… nothing."

The voice: that’s a smartphone voice message by a friend I had nicknamed Star Boi. So it wasn’t meant to be in a song, or a performance of any sort, or prepared in any way. I loved the mood of it, and it fit right in, describing joy and sadness. There’s more with his voice coming and I’m glad to have him..

The title is vibe-stuff meant to get the imagination going. I dunno what exactly a Nothing Factory is. (Some inhumane institution? A literal factory producing a tangible kind of Nothing? A state of mind muting any sense of purpose or involvement in the world?) I never expected to get a question about it tbh :)
