@jbevain if you read the blog post about all the work that went into it, it's obviously not a half-assed move, there was a lot of effort in it... but it may have been *greenlit* just for those reasons you mention... although I'm not aware of any "release X every N years to keep the rights" sort of deal for these IPs.

@Canageek Yep but I'm somewhat OK with their explanation of the incident, and I'm not aware of any other incidents. I'll take DRM-free games over Valve's locked-in platform and giving more money to Gabe Newell any day of the week, personally, until some other bullshit comes along. But if you'd rather use Steam, feel free to.
@ludovic Ah, I was NOT happy with their explanation when this was like the 4th time they'd posted nazi stuff in their PR posts, each time getting more obvious.
@Canageek Do you have some links? All I find is the one incident from June.
@ludovic They are older, from the marketing of Cyberpunk 2020, they had repeated pro-gamergate comments and transphobic comments: I didn't follow them for a few years after that. It shouldn't be hard to search for 'GOG Gamergate" to get sources.
I haven't followed them for a few years after that, but I did hear a theory that CD Projektred sold them off to quit dealing with their PR issues, no idea how true it is, but it seems this keeps happening
@ludovic sus, the cynical in me is wondering if it's not a copyright trick to not lose the rights to some of those, but I know nothing about that so I'm hopeful I'm wrong.
