Does any of you know any fediverse federation maps?
Are there any maps showing which instances federate which others? Like those maps with nodes and connections
It’s for no particular reason, I’m just curious >.<
For a while, I was under the impression that all spiciness, or burning sensation in food flavoring, would come from capsaicin, the compound that causes it in chili peppers. Then I realized that Sichuan peppers are a quite different kind of heat. Wasabi (horseradish) is different yet again.
How many hot-flavored compounds are there? At least five!

Alright, the fediverse has decided that I should be responsible and do my mending before starting a new project.
I have one pair of overalls that I need to fix a split seam, one pair of jeans that I need to take in, and a hoodie that I want to figure out how to modify it so I can wear it (whether that's buffering the inner seams or taking it apart and re-sewing it with cotton thread TBD)
I'll see you all in about 25 minutes!
ABC News: Wisconsin state trooper detained by ICE
"...A Wisconsin state trooper has been detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement and is facing deportation to South Africa, according to his lawyer.
Aaron Van Der Merwe, 21, was detained Thursday as he was waiting to board a domestic flight, according to a statement issued by law firm Christopher & De León.
Van Der Merwe told ICE officers he had a work permit and a pending asylum application...."

@fesshole It seems your clearance wasn't as high as you'd like to think.
Rob makes a very valid point, fess.
Welcome to #CoSocialCa, @Doctacosa !
@mpjgregoire Thank you!
@davidrevoy She is still General Belisarivs, commander of the Feral Volunteer Forces fighting the malign Gemini Imperium (Queen Gemini being my former partner's Cat at the time). Revolutionaries do not distinguish on the basis of gender.
@oddhack 😻 👍
Today's Low Quality Ad is for this Build-on Brick Coffee Mug. It's a neat idea, but think how much it hurts stepping on a Lego. And then imagine how much it would hurt to step on a Lego AND spill piping hot coffee on yourself.

Used to work on medium secure psychiatric wards; once you got through reception it was amazing how far 2-4-6-8 would get you on keypads for any internal doors and safes cos doctors could never remember anything else
@fesshole I had like 5 ways to get into the till at one place just by choosing an obvious number. They're lucky I only did it out of boredom and not malice
Imagine a silly noise! eebee deebee
@jalefkowit I'd like to know the answer to the "wtf is an 'AI makerspace'" question
Successful night tonight, my chums. Very lovely to have unlocked a new level in life of going out with non-drinking male friends. Difficult to convey the alcohol culture in the UK, but you're basically indoctrinated into going out with your mates and getting annihilated on alcohol and that's essentially your whole social and personal relationships. Unsurprisingly this has a knock on effect to many other areas of your lives. Culturally it's not terribly healthy. So I'm thrilled to have discovered going out on a Saturday night to a shisha joint and just banging a load of sparkling water, tea, a bit of food and having a shisha. Also not terrifically good for you, but a far cry from drinking 8 pints and getting in fights. Had a laugh, talked about our feelings and listened to one another and came away from it validated and positive and crucially will wake up tomorrow (today) feelin' fine. Although I went slightly overboard on the sweet potato fries and hummus. Like a wildman. Men! You too can do this and still be a total double-dog alpha male. Grrr. Had so much hummus mate. You should have seen my BiL. Went mental on the shisha and had 4 cokes. We cannot be stopped. Also - we talked about our hopes and worries in a way that was supportive and nurturing. Oi oiiiiii!
@TheBreadmonkey All of that caffeine that late in the night! My heavens.
Just to state really clearly what is going here.
The New York Times is leading an information warfare operation to mislead the public that Chuck Schumer has the votes, and is the inevitable next Majority Leader.
This is not the case. Schumer has significant opposition both from new and incumbent Senators.
We have see the New York Times use this disinformation tactic many times before.
Do not be misled.
