Do any sewers know of a good sewing pattern for a summer dressing gown/robe. Preferable falls at mid calf.
My summer one is falling apart now, and no summer ones for sale are made out of a light enough cotton which will be cool enough for those of us who are perimenopausal and running hot 🥵
@craftygardennz Do you like the one you have now? Although it's not for everyone, if you have an old one you like and it's falling apart, I'd pull it apart and copy the pattern.

@ai6yr I've been throwing the only penetrating oil I've ever seen do anything at all (WD-40 brand specifically) for a couple of days, it just says "nuh-UH" and sits there.
since the gearset is riveted so must be replaced as a set i'm kinda thinking of sawing it off

OK, so I don't use "Google" as a generic term for searching for things on the web. I usually say "web search" or similar.
But I use Duck Duck Go, and to say I "Duck Duck Went" for something is attractive, but unwieldy.
So from here on I think that when I do a web search I'll say:
"I DD Went"
(phonetically: Eye Dee Dee Went)

I panic when Hakeem Jeffries or whoever says "we don't want to fight with the Republicans, we want to reach across the aisle and get stuff done" cuz I assume that will ONLY result in doing things that BOTH Republicans and Democrats agree on. And the only thing they agree on is censoring the Internet

@moira Soak it in some kind of solvent overnight or for a few days (outdoors!). WD-40 might work, or penetrating oil. (PB Blaster would work but it's nasty stuff). THEN, try removing the crank after it's soaked. I managed to get a crank off that way (oh yeah, also used a vise clamped to a wood patio and used the frame for leverage). Wasn't easy.

I have found (in interactions with families whose loved ones have gone missing in the wilderness), no one wants to find the body. Nearly all of them hold out hope their loved one miraculously survived... but the usual answer is:

1/ If there's a political lesson to be learned over the past decade it's that the party that treats the electorate as though they're stupid will get punished. In the US the Dems ignored grassroots concerns about globalism,affordability, etc, patted the electorate on the head and said leave this to your betters. You got Trump as a result. Recently in my province of BC the NDP tried some obvious political chicanary with a snap election. The electorate handed them their ass.
2/ Danielle Smith tried to destabilize the country for her MAGA benifactors and she was soundly rebuked at the polls when the electorate saw through her. The LPC was about to learn the same lesson before Chrystia Freeland knifed Trudeau in the back and Carney rose to power communicating directly to the electorate. Just listen to your constituents...
